Celebrating the Life of Nathan Rose
An extraordinary Artist and cherished friend.
June 6th, 1982 – November 22nd, 2024

This page is dedicated to Nathan honoring the love, joy, and creativity he shared with us all. We invite you to share your memories and photos here to help us celebrate his incredible life.

We are heartbroken by the passing of our friend and fellow Artist, Nathan Rose, who has been a valued member of Petrichor Collective since its start in 2022. Nathan’s kindness and sense of humor brought joy and warmth to everyone around him. We affectionately called him "the hardest working Artist in the business", a reflection of his unwavering dedication to his Art. His generosity, creativity, and laughter will stay with us, continuing to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The Burning Bonsai // Nathan grew up in inner city Denver where his love of creating artwork was nurtured by the microcosm of different cultures that exist there. Because of his exposure and love for so many different artistic styles, he rebelled against the idea that one must stick to just one. In fact, he named his business The Burning Bonsai, because a lot of his work is a blend of both Eastern and Western artistic styles and techniques.

Nathan Hart Rose died tragically on Friday, November 22, 2024 from injuries sustained in a pedestrian accident two days earlier in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was 42 years old.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Rankin; his sister, Ariel Jesse Rose; his nephew, Oliver Rose; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Nathan was born on June 6, 1982, in Denver, Colorado, to Dorothy Rankin and the late Barry David Rose, who passed away earlier this year. He attended East High School in Denver and graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in political science.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Nathan became a talented artist, blending Eastern and Western styles and techniques in his work. He started up the Burning Bonsai studio in Fort Collins, joining the Petrichor Collective in 2022. Nathan also worked as a beekeeper for Copoco's Honey in Fort Collins, assisting many other bee keepers and tending to the bees at Copoco;s, where they produced raw honey and bee products.

Nathan was a natural-born teacher, sharing his passion with others, whether in his artistic pursuits or beekeeping. He also enjoyed playing softball, helping to found the Bedlam ball club where he served as a coach.

Nathan was beloved by many, described by his friends as an amazing soul, a beautiful human, and a beacon of light in a dark world. He was a deeply loving, generous and caring person who touched the hearts of everyone he came in contact with. He had a smile that lit up the room and made people feel understood and loved. Nathan was a shining example of what it means to be kind, bringing people together through his generosity of spirit.

A service and celebration of Nathan’s life will be held at the Peak Community Church in Fort Collins, Colorado at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Pollinator Partnership, making Nathan's bees even happier.
